Questions

What people ask before enrolling

Do I need any experience?

No. Most of our cosmetology students start with no salon experience at all. We teach everything from the basics, starting with sanitation, tools and hair structure before you ever pick up shears on a client. You’ll practice on mannequins first, then move to real guests in our student salon once your instructor says you’re ready. A licensed instructor supervises every service, so you’re never on your own. Admissions requirements are listed on our Admissions page.

Can I work while I’m in school?

Many of our students do. We offer day and evening schedules, and the evening schedule is built for people who work during the day. On your tour, we’ll walk through how many hours a week each schedule takes and when you would finish. Cosmetology is 1,250 hours, so a steady schedule is the fastest way to your license. We’ll help you pick the option that fits your life.

How do I pay for it?

Cosmetology students who qualify can use federal financial aid, including Pell Grants and Direct Loans (school code 016563). Many students combine that with PA CareerLink or WIOA workforce funding, outside scholarships, or a monthly payment plan. Start by filing your FAFSA so we can see what you qualify for. Then you’ll sit down with our financial aid office to build a plan around your real numbers. Most students mix more than one option.
